Custom BMW R100 Builders | The Story Behind Boxr Moto

Boxr Moto was founded in Erie, Pennsylvania by twin brothers Josh and Jeff Snider. For more than eight years, we have focused exclusively on one platform, the BMW R100.

We chose the R100 deliberately.

BMW Airheads offer a rare balance of mechanical honesty and performance potential. The boxer engine architecture, the stance of the frame, and the engineering integrity of the platform create a foundation that rewards refinement rather than replacement. We believe in mastering one machine completely, rather than dividing attention across many.

By working exclusively with BMW R100 models, we have developed a repeatable, disciplined rebuild process that ensures each motorcycle meets the same mechanical and structural standard. Precision comes from familiarity. Familiarity comes from focus.

Nothing rides like a properly balanced boxer engine. The cadence, the torque delivery, the stability at speed, it creates a riding experience that is unmistakably BMW. When rebuilt and refined correctly, the Airhead becomes something more than vintage. It becomes intentional.

We accept a limited number of commissions each year in order to preserve craftsmanship and consistency. Every motorcycle is built in-house at our workshop in Erie, Pennsylvania, and no two builds are the same. We do not produce variations of a template. Each machine is developed individually, from donor sourcing through final road testing.

Boxr Moto is dedicated to the BMW R100 because we believe it remains one of the most complete motorcycle platforms ever engineered. Our role is not to modernize it beyond recognition, but to refine it to its highest expression.
